Best Day Ever MTB takes the Rogue for a proper test at Woodhill Forest

Lance from Best Day Ever MTB rode the Rogue prototype last year for a single day. Did all the filming, handed it back, rode other bikes. A few months later when people asked how it actually handled, he couldn't really remember the details!

Fair enough. One day isn't enough to know a bike.

So when his mate Jared built up a production Rogue as a custom frame-only setup, Lance grabbed the chance to test it properly. At Woodhill Forest, his local trails in Auckland. The place he's ridden well over 1,000 times. If something feels good there, it's the bike, not luck.

Custom Build, Proper Spec

Jared went frame-only and built it his way. Limited edition green Fox 38 Factories, only 1,000 made worldwide. Maven brakes that stop ridiculously fast. Santa Cruz Reserve wheels with Industry 9 hubs he already owned. His AXS drivetrain carried over from another bike.

No compromises, no paying for stock parts he'd swap anyway. Just the gear he actually wanted on a carbon DJI Avinox frame.

How It Went

Lance spent the day throwing it through jump lines, berms, tech sections, the lot. All the stuff he knows inside out at Woodhill. Watch the video for his full thoughts on how it handles, jumps, corners, and whether the suspension setup worked for someone 10kg heavier than the owner.

He's got proper riding footage, talks about the Maven brakes, the motor noise in different modes, sizing at 176cm, and whether he'd trust it on bigger features. Real riding, real feedback, real trails.
