Spanish riders react to the Velduro Phantom
The Velduro Phantom has made it to Spain, and the reaction from local riders has been pretty much what you would expect from the first Avinox-powered e-gravel bike in the world.
Spanish cycling content creators Emilio and Bego got their hands on the Phantom out in the Serrania Valenciana, and their first impressions video covers everything from the bike's surprisingly clean silhouette to the versatility it opens up on mixed terrain.
A gravel bike that does not look like an e-bike
The first thing that struck them was how the Phantom carries itself. On a bike this slim and geometry-focused, the Avinox integration disappears into the frame rather than dominating it. Bego put it simply: it does not look like an e-bike.
That is not an accident. The Avinox motor sits inside a tube profile that is narrower than most non-assisted gravel bikes. The result is a bike that reads as a proper endurance gravel build at first glance, and reveals the tech only when you look closer.
The matte black frame with gold Velduro lettering got a solid reaction, too. Emilio described it as understated and controlled. The kind of finish that does not need to shout.
Built for going further
With a 600Wh battery and the option to add a range extender, the Phantom is set up for long days in the saddle. The duo are planning to put it through its paces across road, gravel, and trail riding in the Serrania Valenciana, with bikepacking routes on the list.
The Phantom's geometry sits in endurance gravel territory, prioritising comfort and versatility over pure road pace. Wide tyre clearance up to 50mm, full bikepacking mounts, and a frame that is happy on mixed terrain make it a genuine all-rounder.
Frame only and full build options
The bike in the video is a custom build on the Phantom frame. The riders spec'd it with a wide gravel handlebar, Novatec wheels, Pirelli tyres with aggressive shoulders and a fast-rolling centre tread, and SRAM Force AXS electronic shifting. That is one of the things that makes the Phantom worth paying attention to. The frame-only option lets riders build something specific to how they actually ride.
Full build options are also available if you would rather not go the custom route.
More to come
Emilio and Bego are just getting started with the Phantom. Follow-up videos will cover battery range and efficiency, the Avinox power modes and how to tune the assist feel, and proper gravel and road testing across the region.
